Revelation
Unit: Bible Doctrines
Category: Walking with Jesus
For some people, God is a distant power who at a remote moment in the past set the world in motion but no longer interferes with what happens here. That, of course, is not the God portrayed in the Bible, who instead is consistently shown as a Father (Deut. 1:21), Mother (Isa. 66:13), Shepherd (Isa. 40:11), Protector (Ps. 68:5), Strong Tower (Prov. 18:10), and many other images, all of them proclaiming love, involvement, and watch care.
